Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Army Community Service recognizes Military Spouse Appreciation Day for the influential role an Army Spouse plays in a Military Family structure. Below are some ways to honor Military Spouses.

Honoring Military Spouses!

Established in 1984, Military Spouse Appreciation Day is recognized for spouses’ outstanding commitment to the prosperity of Active Duty Service Members. The original recognition was proclaimed on May 23 by former US President Ronald Reagan. Today, Military Spouse Appreciation Day is observed on the Friday before Mother’s Day.1

Over 50% of Active Duty enlisted personnel are married.2 While a Soldier is on duty, the spouse often becomes the individual that holds the Family together and builds a foundation of support for our Armed Forces. From putting one’s career on hold to moving frequently or abruptly, there are various sacrifices a Military spouse must make to accommodate the rigorous lifestyle.

In honor of these various sacrifices, JBM-HH will honor Military Spouses during events held from 7-10 May. Read below to find information on upcoming spousal events:
